The sun was shining (well, for most of the day anyway!) on Duff House Royal (DHR) Golf Club for the Vale's annual golf day yesterday. Over 20 teams competed throughout the day for the first-placed prizes (DHR club shop vouchers), however it was the team of Vale players Grant Pennet and Kevin Adams, alongside ex-skipper Graeme Watt and Adam Wiseman, who took home the title and bragging rights, thanks to a fantastic overall nett score of 54!
Barry Evans & Co. took home the 2nd place prize of hospitality for 4 at Princess Royal Park, while the Vale management team of Steve Dolan, Craig Stewart, James Blanchard and Kevin Stewart collected the 3rd place prize of gift vouchers for the Double Greens restaurant at DHR.
Nearest the Pin, winning a pack of golf balls, went to Andy Smith, with Vale keeper Grant Pennet collecting a second award of the day for achieving the Longest Drive!
As with every competition, someone has to finish at the bottom of the pile, and the team of John Stewart & Co. picked up the wooden spoon award of a box of golf balls, which replaced the ones lost during the day (sorry chaps...)!
Our thanks goes to all of our competitors, hole and event sponsors, the staff at DHR for looking after us all so brilliantly and to event organiser Richard Evans for his hard work.
