Scottish Cup Rewind | Berwick Rangers

Wednesday’s trip down Scottish Cup memory-lane features the thrilling 4-0 victory over then-Third Division side Berwick Rangers from the 2011/12 season.

Two goals in each half saw us comfortably defeat our higher-ranked visitors, who ended the game with ten-men after a red card to Stephen Thompson for what was described as a “mortal combat challenge”.

To quote the Berwick Rangers Supporters Trust match report: “This was not a freak result. The Vale outfought, outplayed and outmuscled an abject Rangers outfit, who showed they didn’t have the stomach for the contest”.

Please share your memories of this memorable Princess Royal Park cup-tie on our Facebook page.
