Happy Christmas and a Better New Year

Updated: Dec 25, 2021

Everyone at Deveronvale would like to wish supporters, near and far, a very Happy Christmas free from COVID infections of any variant. I’d guess we were all hoping for a more normal Christmas than we had in 2020 but we find ourselves once again subject to more restrictions given the surge in COVID cases across Scotland. At least this year we will be able to mix with more family members than was possible last Christmas. The additional restrictions do, however, have implications for SHFL football and games scheduled for at least the next three weeks. We will be advising supporters both in the ground and in the stand to maintain a 1m distance from folks who are not from the same household and to maintain that same distance when queuing to get into the ground, when visiting The Pie Shop and using the toilets. The use of the hand sanitisers at the turnstiles and the wearing of face masks is also encouraged. In addition, given the “socialising with no more than three households” rule we, along with many other SHFL clubs, have decided that a care for supporters’ health leads us to have cancelled all hospitality, whether in the Sponsors Lounge or the board room, for the next three home matches – 27/12/21 v Buckie Thistle, 3/1/22 v Inverurie Locos and 8/1/22 v Wick Academy. Our apologies to all of you who were good enough to have made hospitality bookings and were looking forward to a good festive day out. Despite it being the Festive Season, we would remind everyone attending that the rules on no alcohol within Princess Royal Park and against the use of bad language remain in place. We expect to have a large number of families in attendance at our next three games and, whilst supporters of all of the teams will want to cheer their sides on, this needs to be done with due consideration shown to other supporters. Finally, we would also wish all of our supporters, and those of the other 17 SHFL teams, a prosperous and, above all, healthy New Year. Jim Mair Chairman
