Everyone at Princess Royal Park was very sad to hear of the passing of well-liked Banff man Jimmy Smith at the age of 91 on 19th January. A successful businessman with a carpet and floor covering business on Castle Street, Jimmy was affectionately known in the area by the nickname “Carpet Jimmy”.
Jimmy played for the Vale in the early 1950s and made his mark as an uncompromising central defender. He also played Highland League football for Lossiemouth for a number of seasons.
Our thoughts at this sad time are with Jimmy’s sons, James, Stephen and David and their families.
