It was with great sadness that the Club learned that former player, George Murray, passed away at The Grove Care Home in Elgin on Wednesday 7th April 2021, aged 78.
George was originally from Aberchirder and played for their welfare league team, St Marnans, and for Deveronvale from 1960-61. George is probably best remembered for scoring for Deveronvale, as an 18 year-old, in a 4-2 defeat to Aberdeen Football Club at Pittodrie in February 1961, in front of 14,200 fans, in one of the Club's early Scottish Cup campaigns.
Our thoughts are with George’s sons, David and Russell, and step-sons, Alan and Ross, and their families at this very sad time.
