It was with great sadness that we heard over the weekend of the death of former Vale official Alan Gordon. Alan joined the club in 1992 as Vice-Chairman and subsequently served as Chairman for a short period.
Alan relocated to England in the mid-1990s but did keep in touch through social media. Vale Executive Secretary, Stewart McPherson, said: “Alan was a larger than life character and brought drive and ambition to the Club. I fondly remember him as a kind and generous man who always had a positive outlook on life.” The Club’s thoughts at this very sad time are with his wife, Tina, and their family. A minute’s applause will be held at our next home match in remembrance of Alan and in recognition of his contribution to the Club.
