In normal circumstances last Saturday would have seen the second leg of the League 2 play-off with either Brora Rangers or Kelty Hearts playing, most likely, Brechin City for a place in SPFL League 2 for Season 2020-21. However, as we all know, football in Scotland was suspended on Friday, March 13th ahead of the COVID-19 lockdown in the UK and a restart date for the new season is, at the moment, far from clear.
Lockdown has brought difficult times for individuals, families and organisations and, with few sources of income with no games being played, football is no exception. We have already had valuable support from fans with a generous donation from a local businessman, one supporter based in the USA kindly buying 2 season tickets for next season and one of the winners in the April 50/50 donating his prize back to the Club. These very generous gestures are very much appreciated.
Deveronvale have now signed up for “Donate a Ticket” a not-for-profit fund-raising site for Scottish Football set up by Raith Rovers fan, Ruaridh Kilgour, to help clubs during the current difficult times. This site provides fans the opportunity to support clubs by buying tickets for fictional matches within their leagues.
To date 10 of the 17 SHFL clubs have signed up and are now benefitting from their fans’ support. If you are able to and would like to support Deveronvale, tickets can bought through the following link.
All at Deveronvale hope that fans and their families are staying safe during these difficult times and are looking forward to a return to near normal in the not too distant future.
