Deveronvale are delighted to announce that Dane Ballard has signed a 2 year extension to his contract, which will see him extend his stay at PRP to at least the end of Season 2021-22.
Dane suffered a knee injury away against Rothes in September 2018 and has been waiting for an NHS operation since that time. However, through his own sterling efforts and the support of Vale fans through a Just Giving appeal, sufficient funds have been raised to have the operation carried out privately. This is scheduled to take place this week and will hopefully allow Dane to start his rehabilitation period and return to playing in due course.
Manager Steve Dolan said “I’m really pleased that Dane now has a date for his operation and a clearer timetable for recovery. We have missed Dane’s goal scoring capabilities since his injury, although other players have stepped up to try to fill the gap. Dane scored 24 goals in season 2017-18 and was the first Vale player to pass the 20 mark since Mike McKenzie in season 2011-12. Everyone at the Club wishes Dane well for the operation and for his recovery”.
