Following the recent fundraising efforts by Deveronvale players and management, the opportunity was taken on the evening of Wednesday 24th June to present the amounts raised to representatives of two of the beneficiaries. Ross Aitken and Grant Noble did the presentations at PRP, whilst maintaining, of course, the appropriate social distancing.
Carol Fulton, the co-ordinator of Home-Start Deveron gratefully accepted a cheque for £590, which was raised through two “virtual” quiz nights held during May, whilst Doctor Janet Anderson, the chairperson of the Friends of Chalmers Hospital, was very pleased to receive a cheque for £2,045.36 on behalf of the local hospital, which has been providing unstinting and essential service to the area since it first opened its doors in 1864. This amount represented 50% of the funds raised from the sponsored 24 Hour Run which took place earlier this month. A presentation to the other 24 Hour Run beneficiary organisation, Whitehills Community Hub, will take place later this week.
