Captain Ross Hopes for a Successful Vale Season

We sat down with Vale skipper Ross Aitken earlier to get his thoughts ahead of the new campaign. Having developed through the club’s youth system and being a major part of the first-team for some time now, the young leader has seen his fair share of highlights in recent club history and he hopes to be part of the next success.

“The big goal has to be producing consistent performances and finishing as high as we possibly can in the league. The cup competitions offer a great opportunity for us and we’d love to reach a final this year to be in with the chance of picking up some silverware”.

It's not just locally though that Ross is focusing on, with the national cup competition in his thoughts. “The Scottish Cup can be the highlight of the season for the club and supporters, so hopefully we can get a good run in the cup this year and make some memories”.

Having seen many comings and goings from the club in his time, Ross is very happy with the balance of the current squad. “The new signings have all settled in very well to the squad and have brought in quality that will hopefully see us have a competitive and successful season”.

You can watch Ross and the rest of the squad start their season at home to Brora Rangers this Saturday at 3pm. Tickets are available on the day from the turnstiles.
