Blanchie Steps Down

Deveronvale Goalkeeping Coach, James Blanchard has stepped down from his role at the Club to support son Logan’s aspirations to step into his father’s boots. Young goalkeeper Logan Blanchard has signed with Aberdeen FC and has engaged his dad as his personal chauffeur for trips to training and matches.

Local lad Blanchie has been involved with the Vale since 2005 and was part of Vale’s Highland League title winning side in 2006. A very popular figure, both as a player and as a coach, Blanchie will be a big miss at Princess Royal Park.

Vale manager Craig Stewart said: “Whilst it’s a big wrench to see Blanchie step down, family always comes first. It has been a pleasure working with Blanchie - a great Goalkeeper, Coach and person. Giving 17 years to one club is some achievement and something he can be very proud of. I wish Blanchie and Logan well in at Aberdeen FC.”
