As part of a new campaign to take a look behind the scenes at Princess Royal Park and celebrate those who play an important role off-the-pitch, our first unsung hero is Robert Duncan. Robert has been a lifelong supporter of the Vale and starting volunteering at the young age of 10, selling matchday programmes outside the front gate. He followed the team, home and away, until relocating to Inverness as part of his job in the hospitality industry. At that point he only managed to keep in touch with the club when we were playing one of the three Inverness-based Highland Leagues teams (Clach, Caley & Thistle). Upon his return to Banff, Robert resumed his volunteering with the club as a matchday steward. Over the past few years, he has been an integral part of the team looking after guests to the Boardroom and Hospitality Lounge, as well as arranging post-match refreshments for the players and officials. When the U20s and U17s play at Princess Royal Park he is also on hand, preparing half-time refreshments for supporters. It’s safe to say you can expect a big welcome from Robert whenever you visit the home of Deveronvale Football Club. Volunteers like Robert are essential to our club and ensure we continue to provide the very best services to our supporters and guests every season. If you are interested in getting involved, either on a matchday or through our commercial interests, then please get in touch with our chairman Jim Mair via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or come and speak to any club official on a matchday.
