2019 Draws to a Close

Well done to Steve Dolan, his management team and the players for an excellent final month of 2019. The last four games saw us take 10 points from a possible 12 and reach 8th in the SHFL before Christmas. We have a rest day next Saturday and wins for Keith, Formartine United or Wick Academy could see us drop down a place or two, but we will remain in the middle part of the SHFL with every team but the top 4 in sight.

Saturday’s fine win against Formartine United was our first against the Pitmedden outfit since season 2013-14 when we beat them 2-1 at PRP. It was especially pleasing to take three points and keep a clean sheet against a team looking to challenge for the SHFL, particularly when we have run other teams in the current top 5 close without managing to secure the results we have, arguably, deserved.

Saturday’s opening goal saw Coco Charlesworth reach 9 for the season and 4 in his last three games. Ryan Sargent doubled his tally for the season with a cool finish and Ross Aitken’s excellent run and finish brought his Vale career total to 7.

Off the field saw some excellent performances too with the efforts of directors and helpers alike making Christmas Jumper Day a very enjoyable event for all who attended.

We are back in action at PRP on Saturday 4th January against Clach and again on 11th January against Rothes. Come and join us in the Motive Sponsors Lounge to support the team try to push for the results we need to consolidate and, hopefully, improve our league position.
