Which years did you play for Deveronvale?

1995 - 1998.

Who signed you for the Vale and what attracted you to sign for the club ?

Alan Scott. I always fancied playing Highland League Football and when the chance came from the Vale I took it. The Vale had big things happening (i.e. stand and facilities) and that was a big attraction. Also a few other Dundee based players

What are your fondest memories of playing for Vale ?

Them all, but most memorable was the Scottish Cup v Albion Rovers and also against Huntly at Banff. We won 2-0. I got both goals and big Doug Rougvie was in my hipper! Another game I remember was a midweek cup game against Peterhead. I came off the bench to score what was probably my best goal ever, then had it disallowed. I burst the net (I think there was already a hole in it!)..

What is the most memorable game you played in for Vale ?

Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup. Just writing about it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I was so proud to be part of that team that day. It's a weekend I'll never forget.

8. Who were the characters at the club ?

Dippy, Rats, Simmers jnr/snr, Craig Stewart, Alan Still, Stewart McPherson. There were a few others, can't recall names. The fans were real characters too. I loved them.

Who were the best players you played with at the Vale ?

Steve Dolan, Ian Grant (the goalie),Steve Rattary , John Scott & Dod Simmers

And who were the best players you played against ?

Doug Rougvie is the only one I can remember giving me any trouble!

What have you done in a football sense since you left the Vale ?

Joined Dundee Violet from Vale, then Broughty Athletic in 2000/01 where I took over as manager at end of season 2001/02. .

What does a normal Saturday afternoon entail for you these days ?

Running around daft just like I used to, shout and swear a bit at half-time, then run around daft again, then shout and swear a bit more. After that I go for a beer. I don't think a Saturday afternoon will ever change will it? Does it? If you can help me with any of these questions please contact me. Thanks.
