1986-88.
Who signed you for the Vale and what attracted you to sign for the club ?
Julius Morrison signed me. I was attracted by the playing facilities at Princess Royal Park, and also the chance to play again, as I hadn't played since leaving Peterhead in 1983.
What are your fondest memories of playing for Vale ?
The team spirit on and off the park was brilliant. Nigel Montgomery's Testimonial Match was special (what I can remember of it - another great night in Banff ! ) The committee and fans were great, and have always welcomed me back to Banff .
What is the most memorable game you played in for Vale ?
Beating Caley 4-1 at Banff in September 1987…it shocked the Highland League, and boy did we celebrate ! Also playing in pre-season friendly against Rangers who had quite a few first team regulars on show.

Trevor Beagrie, Gary McDonald (Chubber), Gary Morrison (Painter), Nigel Montgomery.
Who were the best players you played with at the Vale ?
Joe McAllan, Trevor Beagrie, Sandy McNaughton, Nigel Montgomery, Kevin Henderson…the list could go on and on !
And who were the best players you played against ?
Billy Urquhart (Caley), Joe Harper (Keith), Jim Bett (Aberdeen), Robert Fleck (Rangers), Mark Falco (Rangers).
What have you done in a football sense since you left the Vale ?
I played for Cove Rangers from 1988 to 1991, then moved to Sunnybank as Assistant Player/Manager.
What does a normal Saturday afternoon entail for you these days ?
I play golf in the summer months, and go shopping with the wife in the winter months
