Huntly 0:0 Deveronvale

Vale kicked off after a minute's silence was observed for the Queen Mother and were soon on the attack.
Montgomery picking out Ian Murray with a free kick which the striker couldn't quite control and then minutes later the same player volleying just wide of Bremner's left-hand post.
Chisholm was inches from reaching a More tantalising cross and then Dolan fired low across the face of goal but no one was on hand to turn the ball home. Vale were well on top and Brown tested Bremner with a half volley, which the big keeper dealt with comfortably.
Referee Duff was forced to book two Huntly players as the game threatened to boil over. From a Montgomery free kick Small sliced over the top of his own cross bar with Bremner well beaten before Kinghorn received a rare yellow card for tripping Addicoat as he raced away from the Vale rearguard.
Stewart picked up Montgomery's misplaced pass but the visiting defence re-grouped in time to clear the danger. Watt was unlucky to see his well-hit drive cannon off Brown on it's route to goal and at the other end there were shouts for a penalty when the ball seemed to strike Montgomery's arm in the box, however referee Duff waved play on.
Tommy Wilson was very lucky to only receive a yellow card after a crunching tackle on Watt from behind which saw the striker go off the pitch for treatment.

Thompson dived bravely at Stewart's feet after Henderson had failed to deal with a difficult high bouncing ball and then Addicoat came close with a glancing header, which crept past the upright as the home side gave Vale a reminder that they were in a game.
At the other end Dolan blasted wide from 20 yards before Bremner used his stature to good use when he clawed an awkward ball which took a wicked bounce on it's way towards goal. Bremner was again in the thick of the action saving comfortably from Kinghorn before Watt's diving header was just too high after a good cutback by Dolan from the left bye-line.
The best chance of the night fell to Mark Chisholm but his header from 8 yards was straight down the throat of Bremner when either side of the Huntly keeper would have broke the deadlock. "Chis" made amends at the other end when he cleared the danger as the ball bobbled about dangerously in the Vale penalty box.
Thompson seemed to twist his left knee during the melee and needed lengthy treatment before he could continue. Minutes later Thomspon brilliantly tipped a close range header over his own cross bar and at the other end Bremner did likewise off a Chisholm rasping volley. Brown had a header cleared to safety following a Vale corner and Henderson did similarly on his own goal line as play raged from end to end.
Gary Nicol replaced Watt and came close late on with a couple of chances but neither troubled the home keeper as the game ended with a share of the spoils.
A point gained was the opinion of Vale manager Gregg Carrol in what was an excellent hard-working performance by his troops.
