Vale defend their Qualifying Cup against Nairn County at Station Park Nairn Sat31st 3pm K.O.

After a 3-1 win earlier on on the month at Nairn, same again would seem to be the order of the day for Gregg Carrols men.
 

Message from Davie Henderson   29/8/02

With Davie Henderson moving to pastures new, after completeing over 200 appearances for the club. he would like to say a thank you to all at Deveronvale, in an interview with deveronvale.co.uk Davie said


"I would like to thank the supporters and everyone involved at Deveronvale for all the support they have given me for the last 7 years.
Vale will always be special to me, and I have a lot of good memories, and it has been sad to leave.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Gregg and all the boys the very best for the future."

Cragie has joined Formartine United, while Henderson has joined Huntly.

Derek Craigie's recent seats in the stand have, brought about his availablilty for transfer. Derek, who had started in most pre season matches has been kept out by the form of twin strikers Murray and McKenzie

Levi Stephen, scored his first goal for Vale as they over came Wick in the Saturday sunshine. Mark Chisholm continued his scoring trend, as did Colin MacRonald, while top scorer Ian Murray tapped in Davie Henderson strike just before full time

Vale striker Ritchie Taylor has returned to Hermes on a delayed transfer.
Taylor who bagged 30 goals for Hermes has been unable to make an instant mark at Princess Royal, returns to his old hunting ground to sharpen his eye for goal

David Henderson has been placed on the transfer list. Hendo has been an integral part of the success at Princess Royal Park over the last few season, has been unable to command a place in the first team, and in recognition of Davie's service to the club, Gregg has given Davie the chance to play 1st team football else where.
Paul Stewart has been farmed out to Turriff United on a delayed transfer. Stewart, has made limited first team appearances also moves to gain first team experience
 

Aberdeenshire Cup Final   19/8/02

Vale have reached thier 4th succesive Aberdeenshire Final appearance and tackle Aberdeen at lnverurie at 8pm Tuesday. Vale have reached the final 6 times since 1996, when the tournament was at the end of the season.

1995-96 lost 2-1 to Huntly

1997-98 lost 5-1 to Aberdeen

1999-00 lost 2-0 to Huntly

2000-01 won 2-1 v Fraserburgh

2001-02 lost on penalties to Cove Rangers

Vale take the hard road   18/8/02

Vale secured 3pts against Rothes at Banff, courtesy of Mark Chisholm's first half goal.

Vale fielded the same side that demolished Huntly mid week, but were unable to find the form, but did enough to claim the points
