| Mark Chisholm completes his personal goal of scoring against every Highland League team. Chiz has scored 30 goals for Vale, but never before scored against home town team Buckie. Ian Murray had equalised for Vale after Buckie had opened the scoring early on.
This gives Vale their fifth qualification in seven seasons and third in a row. |

| Dougan Duncan Retires |
12/9/02
|
By Allan
|
Long-serving groundsman Dougan Duncan has retired after 37 years with the club, at the grand old age of 81 ! Dougan is well-known to everyone in the North football, having maintained Princess Royal Park practically single handed since 1965. The pitch is generally regarded as one of the best playing surfaces in the North and this can be largely attributed to the sterling efforts of Dougan over the years. Last year Dougan won the Aberdeenshire Sports Council 'Service to Sport Award' for his services to Football, which was a great honour for both himself and the club. Someone as loyal and dedicated as Dougan will be extremely hard to replace, but we hope there is someone else out there who might relish the challenge of taking on such a vital role within the club. The club directors have already indicated that they intend organising something special to mark Dougan's retirement. |
